Message from the CEO

On behalf of all of the hard-working and dedicated team members at Aerojet Rocketdyne, welcome to our website.Eileen Drake

As CEO and President of Aerojet Rocketdyne, I lead 5,000 of the smartest people in the world working every day with some of the most sophisticated technologies ever known. Today, we are an important contributor in launching America’s next space age, providing systems and components that will help us travel deeper into our solar system than ever before. Aerojet Rocketdyne is also a critical supplier for some of the most advanced military capabilities and a pioneer in developing hypersonic technology, an area the Pentagon has described as the nation’s top technical priority.

Both the Defense Department and NASA depend on our world-class propulsion business and the broad spectrum of capabilities we provide for solid, liquid, electric and hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems. The nation relies on our propulsion to launch its satellites into space and to maintain their position once they get there. We also supply propulsion systems for U.S. military missiles of all sizes and types, as well as the interceptors that protect America’s homeland and deployed forces against missile attacks.

Here on Rocket.com you will find a snapshot of how Aerojet Rocketdyne is driving innovation across a broad range of capabilities. We are a leader in additive manufacturing technology, applying 3-D printing to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of proven engines like the RL10. We also built the RS-25 engines for NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS), where we have taken the Space Shuttle Main Engine and applied advanced technologies to help build SLS, the world’s most powerful rocket.

As you explore our website, you’ll find that we do much more than rocket engines and propulsion. We supplied the batteries that keep the instrumentation and life support systems operating aboard the International Space Station, and co-developed the nuclear generator that heated and supplied the Mars Curiosity Rover. We are developing advanced systems that will be critical to the operation of a Lunar Gateway, which will provide a permanent presence in space for astronauts as the nation returns to the Moon and travels on to Mars.

On Rocket.com you can also learn more about who we are and what we value: accountability, adaptability, excellence, integrity, and teamwork. At Aerojet Rocketdyne, we are proud to contribute to an awesome mission, helping to push the boundaries of the possible in space and protect the warfighters who defend our nation.

So please, come on in, click on a few links, and come back often, because you are likely to discover something new. At Aerojet Rocketdyne, you will find that things move pretty fast.

Sincerely,

Eileen P. Drake, CEO
